Mayor Neil GoIJschmiJt
announced that a public
hearing will be held on July
29. 1974 at 7:30 p.m. in the
City Council chambers on
specific proposals to alter the
City's towing contract policy.
Mr. Garr M. King. Attorney
at Law. will be the hearings
officer.
“Interested parties are in
vited by the City to attend
the hearing and to present
any comments or testimony
on the proposals." stated
Goldschmidt.
Written comments may be
submitted to Mr. King, 1402
Standard Plaza Building.
1100 S.W. Fifth Avenue,
Portland, Oregon 97204.
prior to July 29, 1974.
The current City towing
contract is up for renewal.
The proposed ordinance
would establish a towing
board which would set rates
and outline standards and
policies.
This would help
eliminate alleged inequities
as the board would review,
supervise and enforce regula
tions on the towing com
panies to make sure that
qualified companies are doing
business with the City.
The hearings officer will
make findings and specific
recommendations to the City
Council on the propriety of
the proposed changes in the
City towing contract policy
as well as on the contents of
the proposed ordinance.
