“But

told me, “they’re even more
popular with foxes than foot
ball players.
Especially if
they share some of their loot
with them.” M aury said he
set a record in 1962 by
stealing 104 bases, but it
didn’t do him any good
except in the record books.
“You ever try to give a girl

ford & Son," has a prison
record. The comic wasn't too
foxy at dodging police during
his lean years. He did some
time in the jails around New
York, but he can’t remember
how much or for what rea
son. “I don't know, but it
was a pretty long line of
stuff," he told me.
“Three
months was the longest I
ever did, but I did that two
or three times." Those were
really l e a n years, he ob
