Employment seminars scheduled A series of seminars are being planned and will be presented under the sponsor­ ship of Clark County Com­ munity Congress dealing with minority employment oppor­ tunities in federal govern­ ment. H arris said that the sea­ sons will be conducted by volunteer staff of the Clark County Community Congress and selected federal and other employees from v a r i o u s agencies. Seminar dates have not been s e t however the w ill be presented in various communities in Ore­ gon, Washington and Califor­ nia. M iss Jordan served In CORE hits advertisers The Los Angeles Branch of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE! met with Black publishers to explore the policies of the movie industry regarding their ad vertising. M r. Conrad Smith, head of the CORE Branch, told the publishers that Blacks are excluded f r o m advertising that is so readily handed out to the non-Black media. Yet the movie industry is mak ing millions on the rash of Black films that have been released recently. The main objective of the meeting was to form a eo- alitioo of Black publishers and to set a rate schedule which CORE can present to the Industry to bargain for a portion of its advertising budget.
