dorm itory buildings for use by
migrant fam ilies last year in

costs were met by volunteer
workers and donations from
faculty and students.

Where is the evklence and
the promise of such unim­
agined attainments, the assur­
ance of the success of such
great ventures? It Is tn the
words, the demonstrations,
the m iracles, and the eye-w it­
ness accounts of C hrist's own
triumphs over all the depriva­
tions, (he legal and religious
restrictions, the prejudices,
the hatreds and the evils in the
hearts of 'righteous' men who
opposed Him from the day of
His birth.
In the face of all these ob­
stacles Jesus achieved mas­
tery over the dominating Influ­
ence of Judaism, over storms,
tunger,
the vengeance of
mobs, the rage of the money­
changers. the snares and vigi­
lance of spies and armed sol­
diers. It was only whenChrlst
willingly put off the Immunity
which perfect heavenly obedi­
ence gave Him , that He could
be taken by the servants of the
High P riest.
His most glorious achieve­
ment was that He submitted
Himself to the cruel torture of
a spectacular public execu­
tion. and submined even to the
evil power of death; as a sac­
rifice for the sinfulness of oth­
ers, and also to demonstrate
that He had power to take up
the same body and walk away
fully alive, to show men what

same faith and obedience.

If adventuresome, idealis­
tic, vigorous youth would walk

Eager young men by the bil­
lions have risked the lives of

adventures seeking gold and
other wealth, or fame and for­
tune in business, entertain­
ment, music or sports. Many
have achieved fame, but fewer
won fortunes.
Such great successes, no
m atter how wonderful or b ril­
liant, no m atter how great
the f a m e or fortune they
brought, have led only to old
age, to ultimate defeat, d is il­
lusionment, disability, misery
and death; proving that such
great ventures and endeavors
were vain and futile ambitions.
Of whet use is all the wealth
of a Howard Hughes to a man
who is old, dlseaseil, unhappy,
sinful, decrepit, senile and dy­
ing?
"What shall it profit a man

lose his own soul?” asked Je­
sus.
Whai then Is the greatest
goal of all striving? What Is
the ultimate achievement of

ambitious striving? Is It not
the attainment of the Kingdom
of Heaven? Jesus said, "Seek
