American Academy of Jialicial
E d u c a t i o n . The Academy,

Assistance Administration of
the (Jolted States I apartment
of Justice, will be held at tie
Unlveislty of Alabama In T u s­
caloosa. I he one-week ses­
sion w ill teg in August 13th.
The purpose of the Aca­
demy, which Is Co-sponsored
by the North American Judges
Association and the American
Judicature Society, Is to pro­
vide practical Information for
Judges of courts of limited
ami s p e c i a l
Jurisdiction.
While at the Academy, Judge
Delz w ill attend lectures and
partlclapte
in discussions
pertaining to tecent develop­
ments In the law, court ad-
mlnlst ration, and tlie public's
image of Justice.
Judge Delz Is a graduate
of Hunter College and North­
western College of Law.
Upon completion of the

dule. Two basic subjects that
the children are required to
study are reading and math.

inception 21 years ago. Since
1951. with neither office or
staff, the United Good Neigh­
bors agency has grown to a
staff of 62, Including the
Homemaker Service Division,
established 10 years ago, and
has served 18,000 fam ilies.

on M iss C lark's retirem ent,

livery of service.

The community develop­
ment unit staffs and adminis­
ters two m u lti-service cen­
ters In public housing pro­
jects.
Yoder also Integrates new
programs into the service
structure and monitors the
yearly budget.
He is a graduate of Bluff­
ton College, Bluffton. Ohio,
and received a master of
social work degree from the
University of Iowa. He has
been with the Omaha agency
for four years.
In 1967, he administered
and supervised a summer
Head Start Program for 300
preschool aged children In
Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He has
been a caseworker in M t.
Clemens, Michigan;
Cedar
Rapids, Iowa, and Akron, Ohio.
From 1962 to 1964, he was

pitals. Its Homemaker Ser­
vice is funded by the federal
and sure governments aswell
as by the UGN.
M r . and M rs . Yoder are in
Portland fo r a few days this
week looking for housing.
They plan to move to Port­
land August 15th.

final plans are being madefor
the first Oregon Black P o liti­
cal Convention.
"Contacts are now being
made with Blacks throughout
the State to assure that all
Blacks w ill be represented at
the Convention." saidRobert-
son.
Scheduled to be heldonjune
30 and July 1, 1972, the Con­
vention w ill represent the firs t
time Oregon Blacks have met
to
address themselves to
problems on a political level.
In addition to unifying all of
Oregon's Blacks, the Conven­
tion w ill also be a means of
electing Oregon's delegates to
the National Black Assembly.
