Sen­ s itiv ity , awareness, under­ standing and concern: these are some of the qualities pastoral counselors are seek­ ing In their national con­ vention, entitled ' ‘Celebration of Awareness,*' By featuring four major presentations on the topics of Religion and Homosexuality, Religion anc Women’ s Rights, Religion and Minority Cul­ tures, and Religion and the Counter-Culture, the organi­ zers of the conference hope to keep their members alert to the issues oi the times. Sen­ sitivity to current problems, the pastoral counselors he- lieve, w ill allow them to min­ iste r more helpfully to the troubled. In addition, they an­ ticipate that discussions of the pioblem areas w ill produce recognition and understanding of the issues and these fact­ ors, coupled with an open- minded, professional assess­ ment by the members, w ill lead to the investigation of how such stresses affect peo­ ple's daily lives.
