These changes were n itiated
by parents, students, and ad­
m inistrators last lictoher.

We are making a concen­
trated effort to appeal to
parents of our neighborhood
to "g e t involved” with your
school. Only you can help
us be more effective in helping
your youngster to achieve his

holding i t ’ s annual "B ack to
School’ * open house, on that
night you w ill get a chance
to see how the Class Unit
Centers are functioning, plus
other fa cilitie s in operation.
The school is anxious to know
how you feel about the way
attendance, phone calls, let­
ters to parents, e tc , are
handled, and to welcome your
suggestions and ideas.

A new counseling system is
now in effect at Grant High
School. Each academic class
has been organized with sepa­
rate class centers as their
bases of operation.
Besides having a unit leader
and counselors, each class has
its own secretary and part-
time community agent.
This program has been or­
ganized to provide more ef­
fective services fo r all stu­
dents , staff members and par­
ens.
The counselors w ill now
have more time to work d i­
rectly with the students .
Community agents also have
an important role at Grant.
T heir responsibility is to go
out into the community and
involve parents in tlie daily
life of Grant High School.

NAACP Northwest Area con­

from NAACP headquarters in
New York city to take part in
