Five NBC correspondents from
around the world w ill assemble in
the Portland State U niversity
Gym next Thursday (A p ril 29) to
participate in “ W orld Beat.” a
bi-annual public forum on inter­
national a ffa irs.
Flying to Portland to give the
public current, first-p e rso n re­
ports are:
John Rich, the network’ s
China watcher based in Tokyo,
who just this week returned from
Communist China where
he
covered the h istoric table tennis
matches and Canton trade fa ir.
Kenley Jones, headquarter­
ed in Saigon and an NBC reporter
fo r nearly two years of the p o liti­
cal turm oil and battle action in
South
Vietnam, Laos,
and
Cambodia.
Douglas K iker, a form er
Washington and White
House
correspondent now based in Rome
and an observer of much of the
European scene of NBC.

who opened

1953, is now back the Middle East

tours of duty in Latin
