Preservation
Plan and outline
its effect in Multnomah Coun
ty. “ The new proposal would
provide
substantial
home
owner
tax
relief
without
the need of additional major
taxes,’ ’ K i n s e y
stated, and
in Multnomah County this mean
that the home owner tax relief
would increase from $7,94 4,192
to >14,o30,l9l, or a net increase
of $0,b85,999.
“ If passed,’ ’ Kinsey said,
“ the Home Preservation Plan
would exempt from
property
taxes the first $1,500 of a ssess
ed value of each owner-occupied
residence in the
state, thus
exempting $561
million worth
of property;
