Tid Bits for Living
By R E V . T J L . S T R A Y H A N D
I share with you this little co
pied article and hope none of the
readers have this disease:
Sunday sickness, or morlbus
sabbatlcus, Is a sickness pecu
liar to church members, and It
re c u rs
every seventh day.
There w ill be no suggestion of
the disease until Sunday morn
ing, and without the least diffi
culty It can develop very quick
ly.
The symptoms vary, but the
d i s e a s e never Interferes with
the appetite. It never lasts more
than twenty-tour hours, and

often much less. It Is never
necessary to call a physician
yet the disease Is very conta
gious. No symptoms are felt on
Saturday night, but the attack
develops suddenly on Sunday
morning. The patient awakens
as usual, feeling w ell, and eats
a hearty breakfast. About nine
o'clock the first attack comes
on and lasts usually until noon.
And In the afternoon, the patient
Is much Improved and Is able
to ride and read the Sunday
papers.
The aftermath Is that on Mon
day morning the patient who Is
subject to Sunday sickness, Is
out bright and early, meeting
friends at the drugstore corner
and attending to business with
usual Interest and briskness.
(Going to work as usual).
T h i s strange disease has
proved very much of an epide
m ic. In nearly every home there
w ill be one or more cases every
Sunday.

its history Rust College has
been accredited by the Southern

The supports
came from Race Relation Day
Offering.
E arl Riddle said, "Having
Just returned from a visit to
R u s t College, I can tell you
there is great Joy In Holly
Springs, Mississippi. Hut more
than that there Is a realization
that accreditation was received,
In part, because of the financial
support that is being given by
seven Annual Conference which
are specifically related to Rust.
The annual support given Rust
has been accepted as "endow
ment" Income which is in lieu
of permanent endowment funds
n e c e s s a r y for the financial
strength of any college."
" It is hoped that our Race
Relations Day Offering (all of
which goes to Rust) w ill top
>6,000 this y e a r," E arl Riddle
said.
M r. Riddle reports that he
was Impressed with the quality
and dedication of the faculty and
administration at Rust. In con
versation with many of the stu
dents (724) " I was Impressed
with the seriousness and antici
pation of every academic oppor
tunity which they had," stated
Riddle.
The new Lenotyne Price L i
brary is a real asset to Rust
College. A new music building
Is anticipated to be built within
a year to replace the one which
burned a year ago.
