vice Is an International Pro
gram of the YMCA to help
YMCA's in other parts of the
world. The proceeds of the
Candle Sale go Into our World
Service Fund to help YMCA’s
that are trying to grow. The
folks that are in the *Y‘ think
I t Is an outstanding program
t h a t these boys and girls In
North Portland are doing by
s e l l i n g these candles to help
y o u n g people overseas, espe
cially as the boys and girls In
N o r t h Portland, themselves,
may be at times listed as un
derprivileged. These boys and
girls gave of their time and ef
fort to make this sale a great
success. We had a g irls' team
and a boys’ team with the g irls ’
team winning. Pictured here are

Home Program of the Metropol
itan Area 4 -C Council is seek
in g children who live in the
Model Cities area and who need
child care. Child Care is pro
vided In selected and supervised
private homes. Fam ily care Is
provided during working hours
of the parents - day, swing or
graveyard shifts - or while the
parent attends school.
In fam ily day care, the dally
activities of the children are
planned In accordance with their
age and family situations, so
each child w ill have the care
and educational experiences he
needs. The day care mothers
provide one full meal and two
snacks.
Social worker, nurses, nutri
t i o n i s t , fam ily life educators,
homemakers service, education
specialists and transportation
w ill be available to the day care
mothers and the children's fam
ines.
Fees w ill be based on ablUty
to pay, but It is expected that
most famines w ill receive free
service.
