How Long Will
Christmas Last
T raditionally, there haa been
and in many countries there Is
a celebration of Christmas for
twelve days. Many school ch il
dren consider the Christmas
Season those days they are out
of school for the holidays. To
them It Is norm ally a two week
span of Christm as. Many people
have one day and It is a ll over.
Some among us have no C h rist
mas at all In the true sense of
the word.
The m inister and the m er
chant were talking about C h rist
mas and the merchant told the
m inister, "When Christmas Is
over It’s over and our job Is to
get rid of all the Christmas
decorations, t o y s , and every
thing connected with Christmas
In one day after It Is o v e r." The
M inister replied, " I have a
much bigger Job, I have to try
to keep Christmas In the hearts
of my people fo r a life tim e ."
Christmas w ill last as long as
you have and practice the s p irit
of Christmas. Sure the joyous
celebration with the parties, the
greetings of M erry Christmas
and the colorful decorations w ill
last only for a short tim e. But,
Christmas Is a tim e In life of
concern for others, It Is an act
of kindness and love, It is a
tim e of giving without thoughts
of receiving, It is a tim e of
peace and good w ill, it Is a tim e
of rejoicing, It Is a tim e of wor
shipping, It Is a tim e to be
happy, It Is a tim e of response
with the best you have to the
highest you know. How long w ill
Christmas last? You set the
tim e lim it and you w ill make the
decision as to how long C hrist
mas w ill last fo r you.
