Burglars Apparently Famil

FURS AND SILVER TAKEN

Away Goods Said to Be
Valued at $3000.
Burglars seemingly familiar with
the floor plan and sleeping arrange
ment in the home of J. F. Cobbs, 588
Jlonteomery drive, crept about it
some time early yesterday morning
and removed furs and silverware
valued at about J3000 and then, after
partaking In convivial fashion of
their unwitting host's cigars, drove
off in the $8000 Cobbs sedan with I
the loot neatly stowed away in two
suitcases, also stolen from the

household. "

Careful In amazing degree and ex
ceedingly expert was the work of
the burglars, who managed to exe
cute their operations through the
entire lower portion of the housa
and through all upstairs rooms ex
cept those occupied by Mr. and Mrs
Cobbs, their two small sdns and
several servants, without waking
any member of the household-

The only clews left by the ma

The loss was discovered by Mrs.

and Inspectors Persinger and Morak

silver worth about $1000 were gone.
but jewelry and other articles of I
worth, including silver picture
frames, were not removed.
Entry into the house was gained
through a basement window. The
entire establishment, with the ex

was then gone through In expert
fashion. Even closets were entered,
but, according to Mrs. Cobbs, noth

sedan had been left outside the ga

Cobbs Home- Secluded.
The Cobbs home, which is elabo

location and the planting of the
grounds. Operations inside th
house probably took an hour at the
least, police believe.
A night watchman and certain
burglar apparatus for the protec

When I became a candidate for state
