Notice is hereby given that the Port
land Railway, Light & Power company
his filed with the auditor of the city
of Portland, Oregon, an application to
the council of the city of Portland for
the granting ot a franchise for a period
of 25 years to maintain, operate and
use railways and street railways and
poles and wire and underground con
duits, cables and conductors on the
following named streets and parts of
streets in the city of Portland, towit:
On East 50th street Southeast from
the northerly line of Powell Valley
road southerly to the Foster road as
laid out ninety-five (95) feet in width.
On Foster road, as so laid out, from
East 50th street Southeast, in a south
easterly direction to a point about fifty
(50) feet southeast of the center line
of 71st street southeast- thence on the
Foster road ond a curve to the Tight,
a distance of approximately one hun
dred and seventy (170) feet crossing the
south line of the Foster road.
Also on the Foster road between
69th street Southeast, and 70th street
Southeast, a turnout ' from the main
track or tracks on Foster road in a
southerly direction across the south line
' of the Foster road to connect with the
present industrial tracks now installed
on the south side of Foster road on
property now-owned and controlled by
'the said Portland Railway, Light &
. Power company.
Said proposed franchise has been
published In full in the city official
newspaper in the iasue of July- 26th,
1922, and said franchise is on file in
the office of the undersigned and may
be examined by persona interested.
Any person having any objections to
said proposed franchise or any pro
vision thereof, may file the same in
writing with the auditor within twenty
(20) days, from the first publication
of this notice and if a request is made
therefor the council will fix a time for
hearing of any such objection 'and will
give reasonable notice of the time so
fixed, which notice shall be not less
than five (5) days.
