THE MORNING OREGONIAN, THURSDAY, JULY 27, 1922 FOR SALE ArTOMOBILES. WHY OUR USED CARS SATISFY. Very often the used cars we pur chase need reconditioning. We buy them so that we can afford to re condition and renew them thoroughly, and they are resold as near a perfect unit of transportation as it Is possible to make them. They are attractive in appearance, and the tires are always satisfactory, being 50 per cent or bet ter; starter, generator and battery are thoroughly tested and O. Kd. The car is in top condition mechanically; frame, axles, springs, transmission and engine are carefully inspected. - We solicit a visit to our used car department, where we exhibit our re building and reconditioning process. Under strike conditions best explained by Chairman Ben W. Hooper of the United States rail road labor board in his state ment of July X, reading as fol- lows: "In this case the conflict is not between the employer -awl the oppressed employes. Jhe. people of this country, through an act of congress, signed by President Wilson, established a tribunal to decide such disputes over wages and working condi tions, which are submitted to it In a proper manner. It is the decision of (his tribunal against which the shop crafts, are strik ing. " "Regardless of any question of the right of the men to strike, the 'men who take the strikers' places are merely accepting the wages and working conditions prescribed by a government trib unal and are performing a pub ( lie service. They are not accept ing the wages and working con- ditions which an employer is try ing to Impose. For this reason, public sentiment and full gov ernment power will protect the men who remain in their posi tions and new men who may come in."
