A man. identified by letters in his
clothing as Albert Koch, either leaped
or fell' to his death from the O.-W
R. & N. bridge Tuesday morning.
Just after he struck the water. Engi
neer Johnson of the fireboat George
II. Williams saw him floundering
about, but before the boat had art
rived the body had sunk for the last
time.
City Grappler Brady recovered the
body after a search of several hours.
.From letters in his pocket the police
learned he was 24 years old and came
from Fargo, N. D., where he recently
was confined in a -hospital. He wore
an army shirt.
The body is at the morgue awaiting
word from relaM-ves. It is probable
no inquest will be held as the police
believe it is a case of suicide, prob
ably because of ill health.
