The location, route or routes, and termini of the line the abandonment of operation of which ia proponed are aa follows: Said railroad begins at a connection with the railroad of Spokane. Portland snn Seattle Railway company at the sta tion of Linnton. Multnomah county. Ore gon, within the corporate limits of tho city of Portland, and extends in a north westerly and westerly direction Into the county of Washington, a distance of 1 8.04 miles to the station uf Wilkcs boro. The termini of said line are Linn ton. Oregon, and Wilkeshoro. Oregon. VI. The reasons- relied upon to .'how that prewnt and future public conven ience and necessity permit of the opera tion by applicant of said liuu of railroad are as follows; Applicant on February 28. 1920, en tered into a contract with the United Railways company under the terms of which there was granted to applicant equal joint possession and use In com mon with United Railways company and, such other companies as it might there after admit of the railway and ap purtenant property hetnabot e described. Applicant was then engaged and is now engasd In the construction of a rail rond commencing at the terminus of the railroad of the United Rail w a com pany at Wilkeshoro. Oregon, and extend ing northwesterly therefrom. Under the term of sub! contract applicant agreed . to conduct operations on the lailroad of the United Railways company herein above describea, and thereupon the United Railways company agreed to dis continue its operation of said line of railway, retaining the right to resume operations at any subsequent date, if it so desires. Said United Railways company now proposes to withdraw from the operation of said line of .-ail-road under the terms of its contract with a plica r.t of February s. llfjo. a ml h p plicant proposes to take over and rhe-e-af ter conduct the operation of s-a Id iino of ra ilroad under the terms of Its said contract.
