Statements to the effect that the state game department had given per mission to Irvin S. Cobb, noted writer, to shoot antelope while he was on his tour of central Oregon were denied yfcBterday by State Game Warden Herghduff, upon his return from Wal lowa county. "Two permits to ehoot antelope were granted a member of the party," he said. "Norman O. Jacobson, former mpervisor of the Deschutes national forest, who accompanied Mr. Cobb, was to be allowed to bag one male antelope for a specimen to be sent the Smithsonian institution. He also was commissioned to get one male and one female antelope for the game com mission's collection.
