NEW YORK, Feb. 26. Stocks wer un settled again at the outset of today's trading in consequence of the cuts In the aiviaends of low-priced copper sharea The market continued uncertain during me lorcnoon, out strengthened substan tially later, when rails were In especial uemana. There was sporadic selHnr of lenthen. shippings, metals and minor specialties of several miscellaneous groups. This was more than offset by the steady recovery of motors, oils, equipments and kindred snares from their acute depression. r oremost among the mora extensive gains were General Motors, the high grade voiiwieunu, vruciDie ateei, rtaldwm and American Locomotives, American Car and American International. Gross rain, of 2 to 13 points in these issues were shaded by realizing sales at the end. Speculative or low-priced transportations again featured tho buying of rails, but seasoned sbares in the trans-continental, granger and trunk Imp divisions particl pated in the advance which extended from l to a Mint. V Sales amounted to l.onoooft .h.M. Time money was again deadlocked, but loans were plentiful at 10 per cent Recurrent weakness of libertv and vic tory issues was the outstanding feature of io Dons market, new low prices being established in all but a few of the groups. Rails and industrials rallied slightly and lu.ciuMuun&is were steady. Total sales, par value, aggregated $12,150,000. Old United States bonds were unchanged vu cau. CLOSING STOCK QUOTATIONS. Sale.
