Bfacian Bottles Aid University.
Belgian milk bottles, which have been
placed in the downtown business dis
trict for the benefit of the woman's
building fund of the university of Ore
gon, are gathering up coins for the
cause and those wishing to donate
various sums for the building will find
the receptacles in prominent places
downtown. Interesting stories are
coming in from the 40 Oregon towns
where these bottles have been placed.
Qp woman in one of the smaller
towns brought in her butter and eggs
to market. She said it had been a great
disapointment to her that she had been
denied a college education and she
wished to contribute to the fund.
Another town writes that they are
making the woman's building fund a.
civic affair and every organization in
the city is assisting in raising the fund.

Conspiracy Is Charged. Max Albert
accuses J. R. Potter, S. Frager and the
Western Salvage & Machinery com
pany of conspiracy to cVefraud him, in
a suit filed in the circuit court yester
day. Through this alleged conspiracy,
he asserts that Potter, a former busi
ness associate, sold to the company

$300. It was worth $2000, maintains
Albert, who asks that amount in his
suit. Albert filed a second suit yes
terday against S. Frager. seeking to
restrain him from transferring two
notes totaling $2000 given by Albert to
a third person.
Liquor Brings Suit. An altercation
over bottles of illicit liquor led John
Rometsch to sue A. Groener in the
circuit court for $255, it was admitted
in testimony given before Judge Taz
well yesterday. Rometsch contended
that Groener had stolen six bottles of
bootleg whisky, and in revenge he filed
suit to collect $255 in odd sums which
he declares Groener had borrowed from
him during the past few years and for
which he held I. O. U's.
