Oregon The Hood River district will ship
from 2.000.000 to 2.250.000 boxes of apples,
according to present prospects, as compared
with about 1..MO.00O boxes last year. Hood
River promises by far Its largest crop. Other
districts In Oregon are equally promising and
promise bumper crops. The Rogue River Is
now estimated at T."5 cars, the Al osier and
Iufur section at 200 cars and the Milton
Free water section at 500 cars as compared to
230 last year. The state as a whole has pros
pects for nearly twice as many apples as in
Washington Approximately 20.50 cars
are forecasted for Washington this year as
compared with about 17,X0 cars last year.

The condition of the crop for the United
Ftatrs Is now Indicated at 61.48 per cent as

ten-year condition on June 1, and a condi

final condition figure last year was 55.9 per

STRAWBERRY RECEIPTS FALLING OTT
Local Market Is Firm Cherries In Good
Supply and Steady.
Strawberries were firmer with the falling
off In home-grown receipts. Two hundred
crates arrived by express. Jobbing prices
ranged from IS.09 to $3.50.
Cherry receipts Included 200 boxes by ex
press from California, Blngs were quoted at
20 cents: the beet Royal Annea at 18 cents
and poorer fruit as low aa 12 cents.
The cantaloupe market was unsettled by
large receipts. Hard ripe stocks sold at 149
4.50. Six cars were shipped for Portland
Saturday and five cars on Sunday. Five
cars of watermelons were also loaded ct for
this city the latter part ef the week.

Cubes Ara Quoted Steady la Spite of Larger
Stacks.
Print butter sold generally at the two-cent
reduction already announced. Cubes were
quoted steady In spite of the accumulation.
Extras moved at 52 and 52 ts -cents and
one bid of 53 cents for 92 score was re
fused. The volume of business was not
enough to move supplies freely and floor
stocks were 186S cubes and 460 boxes. Stor
age stocks were 753, 43 pounds, an increase
of 21.444 pounds. Receipts Saturday were
11.093 pounds from Oregon. 6450 from Cali
fornia and 140 from Washington.
Cheese receipts Saturday were 69.340
pounds from Oregon and 2109 from Montana.

corporation gives the complete figures cov
ering the wheat and wheat flour movement
throughout the United States for the week
ending May 30th. The figure follows:
Receipts from farms, week ending May
30. 2.637,000 bushels against 2.033,000 bush
els a year ago. Total stocks of wheat In
country elevators, mills and terminal ele
vators, as of May 30. '63.824.0OO bushels
against 20.537,000 bushels a year ago, show
ing a decrease between May 23 and 30 ol
this year of 8,665.000 bushels against a de
crease for the similar week a year ago of
only 2.330.0OO bushels.
Flour produced, week ending May SO,
2.071.000 barrels, again 1.2S3.0O0 barrels a
year ago, making a total production of flour
from July 1 to May 30, of 114,215,000 bar
rels, against 109.986.Ooo barrels a year ago.
Higher Prices Paid for Eggs.
Egg buying prices varied widely, some
buyers quoting as high aa 44 cents. Stocks
on hand were liberal, aggregating 831? Cases
against 8723 cases a week ago. Storage hold
ings increased 111 cases. Receipts Saturday
were 672 cases from Oregon, 10 from Idaho
and 8 from Washington.

continued Its reactionary course today,
chiefly as a result of aaversa monetary con
dltions and unfaTormble developments, which
precipitated further llauldatlon of specu
lative holdings. Call money again rose to
12 per cent for mixed collateral and as much
ns IT, per cent was paid for loans on all
industrial security. Time funds were firmer.
The rate for commercial paper also hardened
and heavy discounting; was reported by the
local federal reserve bank.
Tradlna was aftaln very large and TaHed.
Anions; popular oils extreme recession ranged
from 4 to almost 10 points, motors reacted
3 to 7. shippings 2 to almost 8. steels and
kindred equipments 2 to 7 and leathers, tex
tiles, tobaccos and food shares 2 to 8 points.
Kails held better than any other branch
of the list, the setback in that quarter, save
among a few secondary or minor Issues, run
ning from I to 2 points. Sales were 1.47S.00O
shares.
Further exports of gold to Pouth America
and Japan were In process of negotiation,
these being neutralised by prospects of ad
ditional imports of the metal from Canada.
Bonds, as a whole. Including liberty and
foreign Issues, eased slightly on a relatively

Coffee Futures Decline.
NEW YORK, June 16. The market for
coffee futures showed a good deal of ir
regularity during today's trading. ' After
opening 13 to 20 points lower under real
izing, the market firmed up on covering and
trade buying, accompanied by reports of a
continued firm spotand cost and freight
situation. December advanced from 19.45c
to 19.73. or 6 points net higher, and mado a
new high record for the movement. March
also made a new high, selling at 19.50, but
there was another flurry of realizing late in
the afternoon and December closed at 10.45c,
or the lowest point of the day, with the gen
eral list showing a net loss of 20 to 40 points.
