THE OAKS represents an Invest
ment of many thousands of dollars
and so many hours of time that we
count it in years. All this has been
none with the big idea in view of
giving to Portland people the great
est possible amount of refined en
tertainment for the least possible
We have installed (some of them
within the past year) the most suc
cessful forms of amusement. We did
not stop when the big park was
ready with entertainment facilities
but we equipped the park with con
cessions that had either proved
themselves sure winners elsewhere
or which, presented to us as novel
ties, we adopted because we could
see their advantages as amuse
ments. The result is that at THE OAKS
there is a wider variety of amuse
ment than at any other park we
know of. We know, because we
have seen the other parks, that THE
OAKS has not an equal anywhere for
natural beauty. Therefore, we have
succeeded in our desire to offer the
most genuine fun at the least cost.
The pleasures of THE OAKS are
within a few minutes' pleasant car
ride from any part of Portland
Special car service from First and
Alder provides transportation every
tew minutes during the afternoon
