You are hereby notified that pursuant
to a resolution of the board of school di
rectors of school district No. 1, Multnomah
county. Oregon, a special school election
will be held within the district on Satur
day, the 10th day of May. 1919, to vote
upon the question of authorising the dis
trict to levy taxes in the year 1920. larger
by $531,000 than the amount limited by
the constitution and statutes of Oregon,
unless specifically authorised by a vote of
the electors of the district, said amount
being the amount necessary in the opinion
of the board to provide an increase of ap
proximately 80 per cent In the salaries of
the teachers of the district (
The polls will be open on the day of
election from 12 o'clock noon to 8 o'clock
o ant the aualifications of voters at
this election are fixed by chapter 9iF gen
eral laws of Oregon for 1017. In this
election the voter must have the property
qualification.
