rectors of school district No. 1, Multnomah
county, Oregon, a special school election
will be held within the district on Satur
day, the 10th day of May, 1019, to vote
upon the question of authorising the dis
trict to levy taxes in the year 11420. larger
by $531,000 than the amount limited by
the constitution and statutes of Oregon,
unless specifically authorized by a vote of
"the electors of the district, said amount
bing the amount necessary in the opinion
of the board to provide an Increase of ap
proximately 30 pe- cent in the salaries of
the teachers of the district
The polls will be open on the day of
election from 12 o'clock noon to 8 o'clock
P. M., and the qualifications of voters at
