Uritlse to Connect l'ranklin and
Walla Walla Counties Proposed.
PASCO, wksn.. Feb. 20. (Special.)
Commissioners of iVanklln and Walla
Walla counties, in Joint session here,
yesterday, voted to submit to the vot
ers of the two counties the question of
issuing bonds to build, a wagon bridge
across the Snake river, the dividing
line between the two counties. An
election will be called in both counties
on Tuesday, April 8, to vote on the
bonds. 'Aa the people of both counties
feel the need of this bridge, no great
opposition to the bond proposal is ex
pected. The cost of construction, to be equal
ly divided between the counties, is
estimated at .230,000. Present plans
contemplate the location of the bridge
1300 feet above the present Northern
pacific railroad bridge.
Aurora Bond Sentiment Grows.
AURORA, Or., Feb. 20. (Special.)
While some opposition to bonding the
county is expressed it is evident that
many more people in this section are
in favor of bonding than fiver before.
as the statement is oftan heard among
the farmers and others that gravel
roads will not stand the traffic of
automobiles and the heavily laden
triicwa Sentiment has chaneed greatly
in the matter of both roads and bonds,
but whether such a measure will carry
the north end of the county is un
certain.
