Notice is hereby given that the board
of directors or the Hood River Irrigation
District In Hood River County, Oregon,
will sell general refunding bonds of said
district 'in the principal sum of one hun
dred sixty-seven thousand dollars ($107,
000.00 on Tuesday, the iirst day of Octo
ber, 1018. at the hour of 2 o'clock P. M.
at the office of said board at Oak Grove

Said bonds so to be sold to be general
negotiable refunding bonds of the Hood
Klver Irrigation Dirtrlct in the principal
sum of one hundred sixty-seven thousand
dollars ($167,000,000.00), for the purpose
of providing funds to retire and pay off
the present outstanding bonded indebted
ness of said district. Said bonds 10 be
dated October L 1018, bear interest at the
rate of six per cent t07 Per annum, pay
able semi-annually, on the first dys of
January and July of each year, and ma
turing Kerlallv. commencing wltli the sixth
year after date thereof, in annual amounts
of eight thousand dollars ($8,000.00 until
all of said bonds are paid.
All proposals must be unconditional and
be accompanied by an unconditional certi
fied check for $5000, payable to the secre
tary of the Hood River Irrigation District-All
bidders are requested to furnish sat
isfactory evidence of their ability to
promptly deliver for payment and can
cellation a substantial portion of the out
standing bonds of said district to be re
funded from the proceeds of this issue.
