The Jefferson High School baseball
nine . defeated Benson Tech . yesterday
afternoon on Multnomah Field by the
score of 8 to 3. The Benson nine made
mors bonehead plays than has ? any
other team this season. Although Ben
son . hit Pitcher . Grey for , nine - safe
swats and had men on second and
third twice with no outs, poor base
running and poor coaching by the
plumbers kept their team from tying
tho score,
With the score 2 to 1 in Jefferson's
favor the Benson infield had one bad
Inning, and Jamieson's crew put four
runners over on but a single hit. A
walk, two errors by Scot, a wild heave
by the pitcher and a single by Andrews
did the damage.. -
Catcher Feldman. of the Plumbers,
caught a good, game behind the bat
and made a couple of singles, but his
noor baserunning made him look as
though he had just been graduated by
the kindergarten school.
The Jefferson team did not play up
to exDectations. Pitcher Grey, who
was heralded as a coming wonder, did
not pitch as steadily-as he did against
Washington and, although the Benson
hitters are considered weak. - they
slammed his offerings all over the lot
