f the West Coast Lumbermen's Asso
ciation at a called meeting at the New
Washington Friday refused to disclose
the nature of any of the business trans
acted. About 209 lumbermen from
Washington and Oregon points were
present.
It was ascertained from round-about
sources, however, that the aubject of
bidding for labor as between one mill
to another was takan up and severely
criticised.
It was stated that the sublect of the
elsht-hour measure for Washington
and Oregon mills was widely discussed.
Information was furnished at the
meeting that the Government Is likely
to award :i.0i.0( additional feet of
lumber contract to.AVest Coast nThnu
facturers because of the satisfactory
manner la which delivery of lumber
has been made by mills la this terri
tory. This order will be composed prin
cipally of special cuttings for wooden
hips, it was announced.
