13 THE 3IORNING OREGOXIAN, 3IOXDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 1917. FORGERY IS CHARGED COU.NTV TREASCREU . ARRESTED AD UEPRIVKD OF OFFICE-. . V. W. IMcjmlnBcT, of AVenatchec, Admits Mcnine Names of Drnmmtn to Expense Voucher. TTE.N'ATCHEE, Wash.. Nov. 17. Charged with having ' presented for payment to the Board of Okanogan County Commissioners a false voucher, with intent to defraud the county. County Treasurer F. W. Plessinger was placed under arrest Thursday. His bond was placed at $1000. A special meeting of the Board of the Okanogan County Commissioners was called and the Treasurer was de clared suspended from office. At the September session of the Board of County Commissioners Plessinger presented vouchers for alleged expenses incurred on his trip to Tacoraa to at tend a meeting of the State Treasurers' Association. . The expenses aneared ex. cesslve and the board eliminated some of the items. To one voucher was af fixed the signature of L. K. Cfford. traveling salesman for Trick & Hurry) bookbinders of Seattle. This was in the amount of $12.50. Another was for $4, bearing a signature purported to be that of O. L. Trick, of the same firm. An other was signed by Ray Plessinger, brother of the Treasurer. They were all for transportation bills which Pless inger claimed he paid. The matter would probably have gone no further had not Mr. Uf.ford learned of the affair and asked to see the vouchers. He stamped the signatures of himself and Mr. Trick as forgeries. He then went to Mr. Plessinger, who ad mitted his guilt. AMl'SEMENTS.
