ripo THE YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION Has been delegated, by
the U. S. Government, the great work of taking care of our boys "over there."
If it is not done by them it will not be done. The Y. M. C. A. has been "drafted" by
the Government to save both time and money, for the association is a thoroughly
competent organization already existing.
"To Keep the Home Fires Burning" in the hearts of our soldier boys, the Y. M.
C. A. has pledged its service to your Government in this great and good work. At
least $35,000,000 is needed to maintain this work to July 1, 1918. Titanic giving is
required.
Portland Is
to Raise .
$200,000
as her quota for relief and betterment work in the trenches, in cantonment life and
for base work.
REMEMBER THAT ITS YOUR WAR AS WELL AS THE BOYS' "OVER
THERE."
Think of the mothers and fathers who have so loyally and uncomplainingly
given their sons that you might continue to breathe the pure air of "liberty."
For years Portland has never been more prosperous than at this time. GIVE
WHAT YOU CAN AND WITH THE FULLNESS OF YOUR HEART.
President Wilson has said: "May I
not express the very high value I have
attached to the work accomplished by
the Y. M. C. A . and my sincere personal
interest in the large plans of the war
work council for the work still ahead
of the association?"
PORTLAND AND OREGON HAVE CONTRIBUTED
LOYALLY TO THE LIBERTY LOAN AND THE RED
CROSS, BUT THEIR WORK HAS REALLY JUST BEGUN
