Governor "Withycombe's announcement that unless Clatsop County officials prove more active in apprehending liquor vendors he will appoint a special prosecutor has caused a furore in coun ty police circles. In an article to a Warrenton newspaper Sheriff Burns says that he is doing all in his power to end the bootlegging troubles at Fla vel. which Is a part of Warrenton and the terminal for the Great Northern Pacific liners. Liquor has been coming in on the Hill steamers, but who is sending it to this state and who Is receiving it and how is causing much worry to the Sheriff's office.
