playing Sonora, and who was obliged to
drop out of the cast during the last
week on account of 111 health. He aft
erwarda went to Oakland, but never
played again. A couple of years later
the play was preseivted at the Eleventh
street Playhouse (then the Baker), with
Ida, Adair as the Girl. Thurston Hall
the Outlaw, and Thomas McLarnie as
the Sheriff.
It is to appear again this time with
Ruth Gates. Albert McGovern and
George Taylor in the three big roles
and the Alcazar Players in the other
parts as best suited to their respective
personalities. For the past two weeks
mail orders have been coming in from
all tne surrounding cities, and the box-
office has been besieged, with a line o
buyers all week since last Sunday. One
old-timer In line was heard to say that
he hadn t been to anything except the
movies since The Girl" was here be
fore, but Intended to see the play again.
Those who go to the Baker next week
should bear in mind that the curtain
rises at 8 o'clock sharp evenings and
2 o'clock matinees on account of the
length of the performance and that
the Baker rule "no one seated while
the curtain is up" will prevail.
