Our entire force is bending
every energy in prepara
tion of this gigantic slaugh
ter. A Large Force of
Extra Help Is Ready
to Serve the Public
Every department in the store absolutely sacrificed
to the limit A marvelous staggering slaughter
that knows no bounds A thorough ' and clean
sweep of everything in the store Odd lots, broken
lines, discontinued lines that we will not handle in
our new store, will go for almost nothing Scores
of thousands of staple, desirable goods will go as
they never went before A decisive, quick sacrifice
that will arouse Portland to its greatest buying
power.
Thie Cause of
This Titanic
Slaughter
We have leased new premises on
Third and Morrison streets, where our
new and permanent home will be lo
cated. Our stock is unusually heavy
and we must drastically reduce lt.
Ve have made up our mind to open
the new store with a new stock. This
can only be brought about by the sac
rifice of the large stock on hand. This
belntf the case, we are preparing: for
the public the greatest mercantile
sacrifice In modern times. We are
fully alive to the present condition of
the high markets the world over, but
we have resolved to act, and we must
clear the decks. If all the public
should attend this sacrifice for the
purpose of finding out the greatness
of the bargains, then we would have
nothing but empty fixtures to move,
and if the public at large should at
tend, we have good reason to believe
that we will have little to move, be
cause we know beyond a doubt It's
the greatest saving event of modern
times. We expect to move in our new
premises about the middle of February.
