Chemical Analyst Ordered Following Peculiar Behavior of Klre When I Water la Applied. Indications that oil may have played a part in the fire at the St- Charles Clothing Store at First and Morrieon streets early yesterday have led to an lnvestlgatlon by Fire Marshal Stevens. J 'arts of the ruins have been taken for chemical analysis. The suspicions of the firemen were aroused by the behavior of the flames. The fire flamed up when water was applied. J. M. Karo. proprietor of the store, and hi wife were before Fire Marshal Stevens yesterday and were asked a number of questions. It Is ex pected the tests to determine the pres ence of oil at the fire will be completed today. This Is the second fire this year for the Karos. The other wae in February, when the family home was damaged. At the fire In the store yesterday the damage by fire and water was about $8000, fully covered by Insurance. Trio Swim In Lewis Klver.
