id THE arOItNTN'O OREGOXIATT, MONDAY, OCTOBER S, 1916. 79 00 ON MAZAMA HIKE LAHCH MOUSTAI5 TRAIL IS FOL LOWED FROM MCLTSOJIAH. flldge Dividing Mnltnomalt From Ouconti Creels Climber and Erca "Tenderfeet" Knjoy It. Th Mazamas customary Sunday outing yesterday called out 79 persons. The party traveled In a special car on the O.-W. R. & N. train that left Port land at 7:50 A. M. The members detrained at Multno mah Falls and climbed up the Larch Mountain trail to the head of the falls, then followed the trail for two miles further to the Junction with the old Palmer trail. From here they made the ascent of the ridge dividing: the Mult nomah from Oneonta Creek, following x rugged trails and no trail at all until Oneonta Creek was reached, where lunch was eaten. The decent of Oneonta Gorge to the railroad was made, and there the party boarded their special car for the re turn to Portland on the afternoon local. The trip was enjoyed by all, even by the "tenderfeet" in the party, who were unused to such rugged climbing. The annual meeting and announce ment of results of election for officers of the Mazumas will take place at 8 o'clock this evening at the Central Library. A.WSEMESTS.
