Ferullo and His Band Great Success Two Concerts Daily Rain or Shine The Ferullo concerts are now In full mlng, and Portland is In the mlttst t one of the greatest musical fes tivals that she has ever known. Thou sands were here Sunday and yester- y, and thousands more are coming: today, and all the other daya during the stay of the great Signor Fran cesco Ferullo. He's a wonder and yon ought to see and hear him. The great bandmaster has completely taken his audiences and they're heart and soul with him. Every afternoon and evening a differ ent concert will be given, and great Ferullo Is a wonder at choosing his numbers, too. You needn't think that because you don't understand music you won't appreciate him. He plays for everyone in his audience and goes from Verdi to "ragtime." He's all music and sympathy. Maybe that's why the people love him so. At the close of every concert the applause lasts for several minutes, and the whole big auditorium shakes with cheers. The afternoon concerts begin at 3x30, and the evening performance at Si30. Everyone knows the heavy ex niiK of hrincring so great a band to Portland and, in spite of it all, there'll be no extra charge at me gate. Auld Lang Syne Society will hold their picnic here today. They have nrrnnced a splendid programme and will have a ''spread fit for a king.' Cars leave for the Oaks from First and Alder every few minutes.
