Alaskan Engineering Commission for use
In the construction of the Alaska Rail
road, as hereinafter described:
Class 1. lOO.oou standard railroad cross
ties to be used in the construction of sec
tion of line along north shore of Turn
again Arm between Keru Creek and hip
Creek Junction.
Class 2. loo.oOO standard railroad cross
ties to be used in the construction of
Matanuska branch line and main line
from Matanuska Junction northward to
Willow creek.
Class 3. 2000 standard piling In lengths
23 to 40 feet to be used In same territory
as material called for under class 2,
Native spruce and hemlock timber for
making cross-ties and piilng can be se
cured from certain designated sections of
the Chugacb National Forest Reserve and
from other public lands lying without the
Forest Reserve as described in the gen
eral conditions and requirements.
One-half of 1 per cent of the total
amount Involved In the bid must be de
posited with each proposal as a guaran
tee that the successful bidder will execute
formal contract with bond. If required,
within 15 days after receipt of notice of
award.
No bid will be considered for less than
50.000 ties or 500 piling.
On or about the loth of each month,
f ayment will be made for all ties and pit
ng accepted during preceding monifi,
less 15 per cent which will be retained
until completion of entire order.
