Complete unofficial returns from all precincts in Multnomah County but one jrive Dana a. lead of five votes over Joseph W. Beveridge for the Demo cratic nomination. The printed Democratic ballot did not contain the name of any candidate for this office, consequently all votes for the County Clerk nomination were writ, ten in. The returns show the vote for Dana to be 305. to 300 for Beveridge. If John B. Coffey had run as well on the Re publican ticket as he did on the Demo cratic, he would have won by a huge plurality, for he received 608 Demo cratic votes for that party's nomina tion. The A. P. A. issue did not enter into the Democratic primary. As under the existing law candidates pledge themselves not to accept the nomination of any other party, if de feated for their own party nomination, either Mr. Dana or Mr. Beveridge is the Democratic nominee. With only five votes separating them, it will re fluire the official count to determine the result. Beverldare Lead In 1628.
