The Lincoln team won. 65 to 5S. It was the sensational burst of speed at the finish of the relay by Nathan Lakefish over E. R. Holt that brought victory to the regulars. Holt had de feated Lakefish in both, the 100 and 230 during the meet, but Nate did the "come-back" stunt on the last lap of the relay. BAXXI riiAYIVO GREAT BALL Former Beaver Star Better Than Ever With Phillies. Senator S. B. Huston has lust re coived a letter from a friend in New York relative to the playing o( Dave Bancroft, former Beaver star. The let ter follows: "You ought to see Bancroft this year. Governor Tener told me to watch him this season, and he is sure going f reat guns. I saw him and Stock pull off a wonderful play the other . day against New York. Benny KaufC was on second, with none out, and the bat ter, a weak hitter, had orders to bunt him to third. The hitter laid down a perfect bunt along the third base line. It looked like Kauff was on third base almost before the bunt was made. Stock came in from third, scooped up the ball, and, without even looking toward first base, whirled around and slammed the ball to Ban croft, who was covering third. "It was one of the flashiest plays I ever saw, and succeeded probably on account of the surprise to Kauff, as well as its swiftness. It was one of those spectacular play3 that must have been 'doped' out and probably prac ticed before hand." VOLLEY BALL TITLK CLAIMED Ifoquiain 'Team, Vubcaten, Defeats Aspirants in Olympia.
