DRIFT CLEARED FROM BRIDGES Streetcar Traffic Suspended, aa Draws Have to Be Opened. Large quantitlea of driftwood, which bad caught on tha piers and dolphin at the Hawthorne bridge, causing con siderable hindrance to navigation, was cleared away last night by tha steam ers Cascade and Shaver. The work occupied some little time, the draw of tha bridge being opened and the street car and other traffic delayed during the operation. The Cascade also cleared away two logs -which bad caught on the draw protection of the iiurnslde bridge. Tho Republican stato convention to elect delegates to the National con vention at Chicago June 7 will bo held at Twin Falls April 20. The repre sentation at that convention will con sist of delegates from each of the C7 counties in the state on a basis of two delegates for each member the county has in tho Legislature. This was the decision reached by the Republican State Central committee at a conference which closed last night. The representation given to counties In the last stato convention was five to each representative. There will be 202 delegates, while four years ago there were nearly 400. It was left op tional with county committees as to how the delegates may be selected. Republican leaders, 264 strong, to night held the biggest Lincoln banquet In the history of the party, which de veloped into a love feast for party harmony.
