Benjamin, wife of Morris Benjamin. 750 Front street, were quieted yester duy by the location of the missing" woman in St. Vincent's Hospital. Suffering from tho grip, Mrs. Benja min applied for entrance to the hos pital last Saturday, and has since been receiving; treatment there. No expla nation is made of the peculiar fact that Mra. Benjamin did not declare her in tention to her husband or friends. Mrs. Benjamin visited the South Portland Library last Friday, selected a book of ancient Grecian lore, and disappeared. J. L. Amendments to the city's meat in spection ordinance, to make the pro visions conform to the recent decision of the State Supreme Court in which the ordinance was held valid with cer tain exceptions, were submitted to the City Council yesterday, alons with an ordinance providing for the appropria tion of $3850 to provide salaries for meat inspectors for the rest of this year. The measures were taken under advisement. The measure has been rearranged by City Attorney LaRoche so as to elimi nate objections of the courts.
