Darch, of the Cowlitz Superior Court, the Mountain Timber Company was awarded 1500 and interest from tne date of the fire, against the General Assurance Com pany, of Paris, for that amount of in surance written by the company on the Mountain Timber Company mill at Kalama, which was destroyed by fire In July. 1914. This case had been on trial before Judge Darch since October 11. This is the first of 29 suits for the collection of $277,000 insurance. Kelso Ready to Build Sheds. KELSO. Wash., Feb'. 3. (Special.) Lumber is now on the ground for the team sheds which are planned by the Kelso Commercial Club for the accom modation of farmers makins Kelso their headquarters. Charges that authorities at the Oregon State Hospital had mistreated William Curry, an . aged : patient,' committed from Jackson County, so that ho died on December 30. were disproved today after a hearing before the State Board of Control. Through an attorney, Mrs. Curry as serted that her husband had been beaten by attendants. She also accused Superintendent Steiner of calling her harsh names when she attempted to visit her husband. Superintendent Steiner denied the charges in toto and by witnesses disproved the woman's statements. Governor Withycombe and the other members of the Board announced that tliey had the fullest confidence in the superintendent's statements. They de clared that the charges were ridiculous.
