Hanmr.1 JTopoa to Continue Contrarla, Contlnlns Sales to Sub scribers by Mall. Magazines and periodicals sold in this state are readily complying with tbe law prohibiting liquor advertising, according to H. S. Montgomery, of the Oregon News Company. He declared yesterday that he thought after the March issue there would be no infringe ment of the prohibition law in that re rpect. "Some of the publications." he said, "have contracts with liquor concerns and naturally they are finding some trouble in making adjustments. That is the reason it is taking them a little lime to comply with the law. As soon as the new law became ef fective the local news companies and the headquarters of tbe American .News Company in New Tfork City took up the matter of the liquor advertise ments with the leading publications. The Bollman, published at Minne apolis, and the Army and Xavy Jour nal, New York, will make an attempt to continue the distribution of their magazines in Oregon and Washington bv means of subscriptions, which, it is declared, will be no infringement of the law. The magazines which have an nounced they will print a special edi tion to comply with the prohibition law area Popular. Smiths. Field and Stream. Ten Story, reoples. Wide Awake. Vanity Fair.
