Flag day for the benefit of the work
of the Oregon Congress of Mothers will
be held February 5. This was de
termined yesterday at a meeting of
the ways and means committee of
the Congress of Mothers at room 650
Courthouse. Members of the committee
are: Mrs. A. F. Flegel. chairman; Mrs.
I. D. BoDine. Mrs. C. F. Clarke. Miss
WiWa Buckman and Mrs. A. M. Webster.
. It is expected to have between 300
and 400 workers enlisted for the flag
sale in every part of the city. The
proceeds will be used to carry on the
work and it is hoped to raise not less
than 11000. Formerly, three-day sales
of ribbons were held to swell the funds
needed by the organixation, but this
year It is expected to make a whirlwind
pale of only one day.
- Booths where flags will be sold will
be established In the entraices of
downtownr office buildings, stores and
hotels, while workers will be placed
at the' downtown street intersections
and transfer points, as well as at traf
Iic centers on the East Side. Volun
teer workers will enter the campaign
to obtain funds for the organixation.
