Burgess, of Pilot Rock, definitely announced that he had decided to be come a candidate In the Eastern Oregon Congressional district to the Repub lican National convention in Chicago. Mr. Burgess is State Senator from Umatilla County, and is considered one of the strongest Republicans in East ern Oregon.
