Dennis MrMurray and Mrs. Almeda Rexcoad, of Independence, were in dicted yesterday on a charge of arson in connection with tho burning of the old Walker Hotel October 6 at Inde pendence. It Is alleged that McMurray and Mrs. Hex road burned the hotel property with intent to defraud an insurance company. Mrs. Rexroad has been the owner and in possession of the' fur nishings and fixtures of the old hotel since October, 1914. and until the fire conducted a lodging-house there. An insurance policy in the sum of flOOO was carried upon the equipment. After the fire an adjustment waa made for $700. but this has not been paid, awaiting'the outcome of the trial.
