Flays were passed upon as be1 Ina suitable or not suitsble for the movement. Plsns were outlined as to how to start the work in a community, If necessary some one from the college went to a town, met those Intereste and outlined bow to take up the work. Frequently acnvry and costumes were loaned, until those having the matter in hand In some rural district sot upon their financial feet. Th Idea at the root of It was not merely to give a "show" or entertain ment but to brina; about a serious con' stderatlon of the drama and to develop and train a taate for the best. A serf ous study of the drama and dramatista usually went band la hand with the production of plays. Rut aside from this, tha community Interest that was aroused, the fact of having; a place to go and enjoy themselves, of having; something In the way of legitimate amusement In which all were Interested to look forward to. and in a large measure lo help In. for the production of a play drew upon all classes In community, did much to lift the life of town or rural district to a higher Plana It ia a movement worm in attention of those living In country districts who find life stagnating or sinking to low level Instead ot steadily rlslnc higher. It Is not a work difficult to start. for It la of a nature that attracts: and It may bring to light some aood plsywrlghts. and actors and actresses. and stage managers In msny a country village whose talents otherwise would never be developed. And It certainly will do much for the making of American drama. Stoizes FItOM a!l appearances this Summer will see the most elite with tiny waistlines and grcst graceful flaring kirte lhat u. If the most fashionable of the late shop arrivals have any thing lo predict. Praped skirts also will be worn. Though It seems fabulous, some of the moat mysterious and luxuriant of th late party dresses have measured le yards about the bottom. The new suits hsv. little waistlines, but the lower part of lh coat Is wide, flaring; and about S7 Inches In length. rVme charming braided models disappear as eoon am they arrive at the shops snd then resppesr on the streets, with new tight-fitting little - sailor hats that finlah a amart costume. No one ever Imagined that by now the fur-trimmed suits which are still of excellent line and popular would be selling at the present price lest they remsin In the shops to become passe. Vet the best mod -Is now have left off the fur that a month ago edged the bottom and soma smart costumes have no fur at all. Although checks will be fashionable the early buyer will do well to re member that there Is ever a happy medium and neither small, fancy or larre checks will be as aood as the medium sued checked materials. Checks will be popoular la composite colors as well as In blacks and white. Mixtures will likewise find favor. The topcoat remains a comfortable. loose garment with s' oping shoulders, large collars and Is wide and flaring. Port grays and mixtures are good. The sleeves for the ensuing acsson will be of a tyf-e between the kimono and rsglan and for this modistes blame I'olret whose Influence on American fashions will be noticeable, chiefly In the shoulder and sleeve lines. Utile corduroy sport suits will be worn the coming season, and a new line of hats that are modified sailors with eT.-H brim, will be a relief nfter a season ot freaky hats and of odds and tnds. It's rich full fragrance leaks away like water in a sieve. The flavor of Schilling's Best is too fine to waste that way; we take too much care in selection, grinding evenly and taking out the bitterish chaff. So we seal it in airtight tins keep it suffused in every atom of its own fresh aroma until you get it. Coffee nowadays is better thank the "airtight tin! SeMUfig's Best
