Governor Lister Present.
Governor Lister was In the Supreme
Court rooms when the decision was
given out at 11 o'clock this morning.
Afterwards he said:
"By a substantial majority the voters
of the atate enacted Initiative measure
No. 3 into law at the laat general
election. By its decision, handed down
today, tbe Supreme Court has declared
it Is constitutional. The law- becomes
operative on January 1.
"Public opinion will have mucn to ao
with its enforcement. If the will of
th majority, as expressed at tlje polls
and the decision of the court be ac
cepted by the people of tbe state, there
wilt be little difficulty in connection
with Its enforcement. If. on the other
hand, there be pesyons inclined to its
violation, every public official ought
promptly to do hla part in aeeing that
law violators ar brought to Justice
