One seldom knows when the common enemy, sickness, in one form or another, is about to strike;- and the best form of preparedness is to keep body and brain healthy. Active brains and vigorous bodies are the result of right living: food plays a big part. FOOD made of whole wheat and malted barley, supplies all the bone and bKun-builtling, nerve and muscle-making elements of the gTains, including the vital salts, phosphate of potash, etc., often lacking in the diet of many, but imperative for bounding good health. Grape-Nuts is easily digested cemes ready for table directly the germproof, mois ture and dustproof packet is opened, With good milk er cream Grape-Nuts supplies com plete nourishment, A ration of Grape-Nuts each day is a safe play for health, and "There's a Reason " sold by Grocers everywhere. a .rvio aa a i I Reduced B $165 J Co, MILITARY LINE PUNNED NEW HATEJf EX-CHIEF TESTIFIES TO OBJECTS OF DEAL. OIL STRUCK NEAR TENINO Success Is Reported on Vantls Tract by Lone Operator. OLYMPIA. Wash., Dec. 8. (Special.) The striking of oil sand at -435 feet in the Canady well on the old Yantis place, four miles south of Tenino. was reported here today, and the report later confirmed from several sources. Indications point to a possibility of success for what has been regarded as the longest chance of all wildcat oil operations in Washington. Al Canady arrived here with his own drilling outfit about a year ago to drill for the United, which had leased the Yantis tract. Just then the Crescent bubble burst, carrying most of the newly organized oil companies into dissolution, the United among them. Canady was left stranded, but, succeed ing in Inducing a few Tenino business men to grubstake him. Organization of a company was noc attempted, but Sanady was kept sup plied with food supplied and fuel, and hammered away with his tools, without even casintr for the hole. At 435 feet the drill went into sand, and when the bailer was sent down, in five trips, it is reported to have brought up about three gallons of oil. Work has been stopped and casing ordered for the well. Water will be shut off and an attempt made to establish possible pro duction. The Washington, Oregon and Pacific States' operations, within a few miles of the Canauy hole, have reached great er depths without indications of oil.
