The names of the 11 jurors, tenta tively selected, are: F. E. Norton, farmer of Amity; Will iam Bernard, farmer of McMiunvillc; H. M. Hansen, contractor of Newberg; E. II. Campbell, farmer of Amity; C. L. Wood, farmer of Dundee; C. M. Hembree, farmer of Carlton; J. II. Prickett, farmer of McMinnville; G. W. Hash, blacksmith of Newberg; E. M. Alderman, farmer of Dayton; Chester A. "Stringer, farmer of Belleview, and Frank Haynes, farmer living near Mc Minnville. Henry C. Smith, of Sheridan, which is only a few miles from Willamina, was excused for cause by the defense after admitting that he had formed an opinion it would take evidence to re move. The other venireman let out for cause was challenged by the prosecution. He was W. A. Yocum, of Bailston, a farmer. Judge Belt allowed the challenge after taking a hand in the questioning. Peremptory Challengea Kxerclsed. The following peremptory challenges were exercised by the defense: George H. Baxter, retired farmer, of Dayton; J. N. Thurber, farmer, of Yamhill; Thomas Donaldson, farmer, of McMinn ville; Charles Jensen, farmer, of Carl ton; John P. Sawyer, farmer, of Hex. and Garry E. Lawrence, farmer, living near Willamina. The prosecution exercised peremptory challenges on J. E. Kennedy, fruit raiser, of Newberg; W. H. Bailey, of Carlton, and F. F. Perkins, farmer, of Yamhill. II. L. Conner, District Attorney of Yamhill County, is conducting the prosecution. He is assisted by Attorney B. A. Vliks, of McMinnville, and Attor- I ney Mannix, of Willamina, as private prosecutors. W. T. Vinton, James E. Burdette and James McCain, of McCain, Vinton &. Burdette, are attorneys for the defence. Mr. McCain, one of the best known criminal lawyers in this part of tli-e state, is prevented by poor health from active participation in the case. Hint of New Theory Thrown Oat. Hints of a new theory that may be advanced by the defense, to the effect that Mr. Booth was not murdered at all. but was accidentally shot by a hunter, were thrown out in tho examination of prospective jurors by Attorneys Vin ton and Burdette. "Would you bo able to give an un prejudiced consideration to such a the ory of Mr. Booth's death as that he misht have been shot by hunters ao against the contrary tneory that he v ai murdered?" asked Mr. Vinton of one venireman. The hunting season was on at ths time that William Booth fell at the edge of a little fringe thicket such au a hunter might have been beating.
